Since the beginning of 2010, a real revolution has started in the field of television technology. Naturally, we are talking about a wide spread of equipment from the world's best manufacturers that supports the function of 3D-image. The appearance on the electronics market with this innovation, in turn, launched a chain reaction. Still, even the most modern HD-TV with 3D-function will be absolutely useless piece of iron without the presence of related 3D-content. That is why various HD-channels began to broadcast all kinds of three-dimensional TV programs, and the number of films sold in Blue Ray format has increased significantly.

Approaching the acquisition of a display with 3D-function, the buyer is difficult to be objective in the absence of a minimum of knowledge about this technology. But in the current time for use in household conditions serious the spread of regained just two competing principle viewing 3D-films: Active 3D and Passive 3D. Each of these technologies has its own fans, but, of course, there are also justifiable reasons for their popularity.

First of all, it is worth noting that giving preference to the active three-dimensional image (Active 3D), users will be able to view movies and various programs in 1080p resolution. The main disadvantage of using glasses for active 3D viewing is the image darkening due to the significant loss of light flux emitted by the TV screen. The influence of this negative effect is almost imperceptible for the LCD monitor, which can not be said about the plasma television technology.

Passive 3D technology will significantly increase the brightness of the 3D-image, but in this case, polarizing glasses will distribute the resolution of 540P for each eye. Thus, having looked closely at the broadcast image, users will be able to see on the screen strips, slightly distorting the display of objects. Of course, the brightness when watching a movie plays a significant role, but the presence of the above defect in most cases irritates the audience. But be that as it may, glasses used for Passive 3D technology not only cost several times cheaper than "active", but also weigh much less, which has a positive effect on comfort during the home movie show.

A new, third, type of 3D is a parallax barrier. This technology allows you to view a 3D image without special glasses and can easily convert a 2D image to 3D. The disadvantage of this technology is the small viewing angles or even the presence of dead zones that is, the viewer to view a full image in 3D mode, you need to find the right angle.

As can be seen from the above, each type of 3D image has its pros and cons. Therefore, the question of choosing the type of 3D technology for a monitor or TV, everyone should decide for themselves. It is also important to remember that for a 3D image, the optimal screen diagonal is about 50 inches or more.
